STRUCTURAL STEEL FABRICATION OF CARBON STEEL SIDEWALK GRATINGS & FRAMES FOR AN ELECTRICAL WIRING APPLICATION
An electrical contractor came to us for the fabrication of a hot dip galvanized carbon steel sidewalk grate and frame to sit above an electrical vault. This sidewalk grate required structural integrity and was made from angle and plate steel. We used our vertical band saw and our CNC punching capabilities to form the grate and frame and then MIG welded the pieces into the final unit. The grate was hot dip galvanized to further strengthen and protect it from corrosion. The completed grate was up to 16′ long by 8′ wide, with a material thickness of up to ½”, and a weight of 1,000 lbs.
